Sometimes awards just aren’t what they seem as you can see from Dr Vino’s post about a recent Wine Spectator Award of Excellence awarded to a fictitious restaurant. Not only did the fictitious restaurant apply with a list of Wine Spectator’s lowest scoring wines, apparently Wine Spectator grosses over $600K every contest because the entry fee is $250. What a shame!

We will be raising money for Parkinson’s Resource Center of Spokane this Sunday at the Latah Creek Variety Market. (map) They have been doing great work locally to educate and empower people touched by Parkinson’s disease. Come visit the market or visit their web site to help.

This Sunday, Aug 17th is our third market in the parking lot.

Antiques, farmers market, art, food, clothes, jewelry, plants, you name it.

We will be serving $5 personal pizzas and $2 margaritas and bloody marys. They were a big hit at the last market. Here’s the live music schedule for our patio…
