Meet Al Kowitz, the newest member of our team and co-author of Farm to Table Sourcebook - Creating Connections between Eaters and Farmers. Al is not just promoting the benefits of Sustainable Agriculture, he is living it with his actions. He has been a farmer, a cook, and an activist; helping obtain funding for Mobile Poultry Processing and a Livestock Processing Unit to allow local meat producers the affordable access to government approved processing. He has been active in creating a direct local connection from farms to tables in our area. Check out the Community Agriculture Development Center web site. Although Al will be working with us for a short time, we will surely benefit from his knowledge and experience.

Nodland Winery Tour

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Last Saturday our whole team was invited to tour Nodland Cellars Winery. We tasted their Dry Riesling and Private Red Blend, along with carmenere and petite verdot from the barrels. They use only the finest French oak and source their fruit from some prestigious Seven Hills blocks. Even though they are new to the Spokane market, this is their 9th vintage. The wines speak for themselves with high quality and great value. We currently have The BeBop Riesling on our bottle list and the Private Reserve by the glass. We even have a couple of special bottles of straight Carmenere that are very unique. Come taste for yourself while it lasts. Next year their wines will be allocated. Monday Night is 1/2 off all bottles of wine.Â
